Legacy Foods Partnership with Honeyville Offers Additional
Health Certificates and Higher Supplier Production Standards
Legacy Food Storage has announced that Honeyville Inc. will be its new ingredients supplier. Honeyville Foods has been a leader in the food industry for over 60 years, with a focus on producing foods that meet the needs of people with dietary restrictions, such as gluten-sensitivity, among others.
Partnering with Honeyville will not only enable Legacy Foods to continue to produce the healthiest and tastiest emergency foods, but also assures that all of Legacy’s products will continue to be certified GMO-Free, with no trans fat, no cholesterol, low sodium and high fiber contents.
“Since its beginning, Legacy has striven to provide the healthiest – and most delicious – emergency foods, with real ingredients certified by our vendors as ‘GMO-free’ as well as featuring no cholesterol, no trans fat, low sodium, no MSG and high fiber,” said Phil Cox, CEO, Legacy Food Storage.
“With all ingredients now supplied by Honeyville, not only will our foods meet the aforementioned benefits but Honeyville’s additional certifications for dietary restrictions such as gluten-free, lactose-free, and even kosher, will give consumers with these restrictions the confidence they need to make Legacy their emergency food vendor of choice.”
Honeyville, founded in 1951, has more than 60 years in the food industry.
Its facilities – located in Salt Lake City and Honeyville, Utah; Phoenix, Arizona; Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., and Cincinnati, Ohio – are among the highest-rated facilities in the country with SQF Level 2 (NSF) facility certification and additional third party certifications in kosher, halal, organic, non-GMO; and gluten-free products.
“Our full line of ingredients cater to specialty diet and allergen control needs, which fits in perfectly with the ongoing requests Legacy receives from its diverse customer base,” said Johnny Ferry, Vice President of Marketing & Product Development at Honeyville Inc.
He goes on to say, “We’ve worked with Legacy over the last several months to reformulate their products to meet Legacy’s certification requirements while at the same time tasting the same or even better than what consumers have grown to expect and appreciate about Legacy Food Storage.”
Partnership Between Honeyville Foods and Legacy Foods
Further Ensures Non-GMO and Gluten-Free Food Products
Recently, Legacy Foods announced their partnership with Honeyville Foods, a long-standing leader in the food industry for over 60 years. Honeyville’s ingredient lines cater to specialty diets, especially related to allergen control; this is a perfect fit with Legacy’s product line which fills ongoing requests from its diverse customer base.
Founded in 1951 as a grain manufacturer and wholesaler, Honeyville Foods has since expanded its operations to include flour and mix blending, wholesale ingredient formulation and distribution and TempSURE® heat-treatment, among other specialties.
As part of the new partnership, Honeyville will not only be the sole ingredient provider but will also produce all of the Legacy Premium and Legacy Essential products in their state-of-the-art facilities.
While Legacy has always worked hard to ensure that our products are of the highest quality and meet our rigorous standards of certification, this new partnership will allow us to take our standards to an even higher level and produce even better products for our customers.
Over the years, Legacy competitors questioned our claims of GMO Free and Gluten Free products because of how affordable we have made the product. Non-GMO ingredients are more expensive to source and harder to find, but Legacy has always felt that it is important to use only the highest grade ingredients possible without the premium price tag.
Our dedication to non-GMO products will continue, and Honeyville has backed up that claim and will require every ingredient supplier for Legacy products to verify that the food is certified Non-GMO. Honeyville is also certified by a 3rd party, the Gluten Intolerance Group, which will allow us to continue to run our gluten free lines in facilities that are certified to ensure that cross-contamination doesn’t happen.
