Police Force Pepper Sprays and Foams are tested and certified by Chromtec LLC, the same independent laboratory that has been testing pepper sprays for manufacturers and the U.S. Government for over 40 years.
The testing measures the heat of the pepper after it is sprayed out of the can.
Police Force 23 Pepper Sprays have a Certified Heat Rating of over 230,000 SHU (Scoville Heat Units). This certificate is available upon request.
For purposes of comparison, the laboratory has tested other competing brands. They found the average heat rating to be only 123,000 SHU.
