Discover the Revolutionary Solo Stove Campfire Camp Stove

The Campfire is our largest (at the moment) portable camping stove. It’s a perfect addition to any backpacker’s bag as a lightweight cooking stove for two to four people. And perhaps the best part about the Solo Stove is there’s no need to carry fuel with you!

Cooking your food shouldn’t depend on you needing to carry fuel, or finding a place that sells gas or propane. Since nature provides the perfect tinder and wood all year ’round, you can minimize your pack weight and your footprint with this ultra-efficient stove.

The Solo Stove Campfire operates on twigs and sticks, or an alcohol burner, to fuel the fire. The air intake holes at the bottom of the stove send an air flow to the bottom of the fire, which of course feeds the fire and allows it to burn.

At the same time, the bottom holes allow air to flow up, between the walls of the stove. This now-heated air feeds back into the firebox through smaller holes at the top of the stove. This inflow of warm oxygen causes a secondary combustion, which allows the fire to burn more completely.

The result is a hotter, more efficient fire that produces very little smoke. This means you’ll use less wood than you would for an open camp fire.

Solo Stoves also feature a heat shield between the ash pan and the bottom of the stove. This protects the ground under the stove from scorching or catching fire.

The cooking ring has an angled lip, which increases efficiency by directing the heat of the fire toward your pot. And the cooking ring also acts as a wind screen.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the Difference Between the Solo Stove Lite, Titan, and Campfire?

Aside from weight and portability the main difference is size. The Solo Stove Lite is good for 1-2 people, the Titan is good for 2-4 people and the larger Campfire works great for groups of 4+ people.

How Many People Can the Solo Stove Campfire Cook for?

This depends on what you’re cooking, but generally, the Solo Stove Campfire  is a great stove for 4 or more people.

What Types of Wood Do You Recommend Using as Fuel?

Any dry twigs, pine cones or leaves will burn, but for optimum efficiency we recommend dry hard woods. Hardwoods such as birch, maple, hickory and oak will burn longer than softwoods.

What Pot Works Best with the Solo Stove Campfire?

Our Solo Stove Pot 4000 is the companion pot for the Solo Stove Lite. The stove nests inside this pot for compact storage.

What Accessories Work with the Solo Stove Campfire?

The Solo Stove Tripod, the Pot 4000, and the 2-Pot Set and 3-Pot Set all work great with the Solo Stove Campfire.

How Do I Clean and Store My Stove?

After your stove is cool, a quick shake will get rid of any remaining ashes left in your stove. Place it in its stuff sack and keep it in a cool and dry place when not in use. It’s just that easy!

Are Solo Stoves Airplane Friendly?

Yes! Solo Stoves, unlike most canister fuel burning stoves, can be carried on or checked in at the airport. We do not, however, recommend lighting the stove while you’re on the plane.
